Successful Ba Vi Bike Ride - 2009

More than 150 riders saddled up in the early morning chill on Saturday 21st November for the 2009 KOTO Ba Vi Bike Ride.

UNIS again generously provided their Ciputra campus as the start point for this year’s ride, affording the riders plenty of space to warm up and enjoy a KOTO breakfast.

With a few changes to this year’s route to the Tan Da Spa Resort in Ba Vi, riders escaped the Hanoi traffic and were quickly out in the countryside enjoying the sunshine and fabulous scenery. We’re pleased to say that SOS’ expertise was not called upon with all riders finishing without medical incident.  Everyone enjoyed a delicious lunch at the end of ride and an afternoon relaxing beside the lake. The therapeutic massage, an addition to this year’s event, was a huge hit with all participants.

An event of this scale would not be possible without the generous support of our event and award sponsors, motorbike support team, volunteers, KOTO staff and trainees. A huge thanks to all the riders and the team of people who help KOTO put this event together year after year.

Thanks to our sponsors: UNIS, Tan Da Spa Resort, Crown Relocation, Exotissimo, SOS International, Ciputra, Joy Water, Tiger Beer, Lucky Beer, The Warehouse, Baran (Vietnam) Ltd, UMA, Mangosteen IT Services, Mishka Kohli Cira, Just Massage, Aspen Clinic, Buffalo Tours and Café Hideaway.

Thanks to our award sponsors: Intercontinental Hanoi, Hanoi Cooking Centre, Jewel of the Delta, Mai Chau Lodge and Laser World.

This year’s award winners were:

Team Challenge: UNIS
Individual Achievement:   Michael Blyth
Youngest Achiever:  Sacha Pinfold
Most Impressive:   Jean Shaw-Smith

“With the help of our generous participants, sponsors and friends considerable funds were raised again this year to help support the KOTO program. On behalf of KOTO, our current and future trainees, I thank you all sincerely for your ongoing support,” KOTO Founder and CEO, Mr Jimmy Pham said today.
