New Era of Learning Opportunities

16 October 2009

KOTO announced a new public education program, giving locals the opportunity to receive internationally accredited hospitality and tourism accreditation.

KOTO Public Education Program (KPEP) will deliver high quality vocational training programs, using curriculum reflecting current techniques, policy and practices and incorporating extensive practical components.

Students have the opportunity to enroll in courses including barista, housekeeping and Healthy Eating for Teenagers and receive official KOTO accreditation.

The program also features Certificate II, III and IV in courses such as Hospitality Operations and Commercial Cookery, where students will receive accreditation from Australia’s Box Hill TAFE.

Box Hill TAFE Chief Executive Officer, Mr John Maddock, who was a guest at the alumni function at which the announcement was made, praised KOTO and its graduates.

“It was great to be involved in one of the first alumni functions, particularly one focused on further education and building networks. To see the enthusiasm and excitement of our past graduates was very rewarding and we look forward to working together (with KOTO) in their interests in the future,” said Mr Maddock.
