My name is Thai.
Five years ago I was living on the streets of Hanoi working 14 hours a day, 7 days a week as a shoeshine boy to support my family. Born to a poor farming family in the Ha Nam Province, I left home when I was 14 in search of a better life.
After 4 years on the streets of Hanoi, KOTO gave me and my family a shot at a brighter future.
After graduating from KOTO’s program in 2006, I worked at restaurants in Nha Trang and Saigon before returning to the KOTO family in 2008. Today, at 23-years-old I work as a chef at KOTO. KOTO changed my life and I really wanted to share and pass on my experiences and knowledge to the younger trainees – to “know one teach one”.
