Ba Vi Bike Ride 2008

The Ba Vi Bike is KOTO’s annual fundraising event in Hanoi. All proceeds go directly to help street and disadvantaged youth through the KOTO program.

In 2002, twenty-five enthusiastic KOTO supporters cycled 80km from Hanoi to the summit of Tam Dao Mountain raising over $4000USD. A tradition was born. The following year the destination changed to Ba Vi and in the six years since, the event has grown to over 200 participants raising a record amount of $35,000USD in 2007.

Last year we introduced the “corporate challenge”, the opportunity for Hanoi based companies to enter a corporate team. It’s a great team building activity, terrific fun and you raise funds to empower street and disadvantaged youth. And we’ll make sure everyone know about your company’s efforts on our website, Ba Vi flyers and newsletter.

The ride tales place on Saturday 13th December (please note change of date). We have just put the finishing touches on the route which starts in Hanoi and winds through beautiful countryside, past lakes, pagodas and rice paddies finishing in Ba Vi. While the ride is 80km, it is flat all the way and there are regular rest breaks en route. Transport back to Hanoi is provided and KOTO provides a light breakfast, drinks, snacks and lunch to fuel the riders.

Registration: Individuals need to raise a minimum of $150USD sponsorship fee. Corporate teams need a minimum of 4 riders and team members need to raise a minimum or $150USD per team member (ie. a team of 4 needs to raise a minimum of $600USD).
